History
Thirteen years ago, God impressed upon Reg and Pat Lewis the need for a church in the community of Harrietsfield, Nova Scotia. By the grace of God and through the faithfulness of Reg, Pat and the few who joined with them at the beginning, Gospel Light Baptist Church came into existence. Mid-week meetings took place in Reg and Pat’s home, while Sunday services were first held in the elementary school, and then moved to the local community center some years later. By 2006 the congregation had grown significantly, and God blessed Gospel Light with a piece of property and a building in the centre of Harriestfield. With a heart for evangelism and a commitment to preaching the Word of God, Pastor Reg saw God build His church into the faithful group of believers that meet in the beautiful log cabin style church today. In 2009, pastor Reg once again answered the call of God, but this call was to pass the leadership on to the next man of God’s calling. That man was Sean Crowe, who took over leadership at Gospel Light in June, 2009. The gathering of believers who meet at 1266 Old Sambro rd is a testimony to God’s goodness coupled with the faithfulness of a few of His servants who were bold enough to answer His call. We look forward to many more years of God’s blessing as the Word continues to be faithfully preached, and the Gospel is shone into the surrounding community.
